Ep. 112 - Over Fifty? Who's Counting... (rePLAY)
Tuesday Dec 08, 2020
Tuesday Dec 08, 2020
By the age of fifty, or shortly thereafter, most so-called experts don't believe there's an upside to your health at all. In fact, most would argue that you're on the decline at that juncture— that it is nearly impossible to fortify your health and thus make any appreciable gains or progress. Particularly, if your goal is increased strength or muscle gain relative to muscle toning. So, say goodbye to that beach body unless you are willing to undergo cosmetic surgery, hormone replacement therapy, gastric bypass, or use steroids. That’s because, according to the so-called experts, your days for achieving muscular gains and decreasing body fat have long passed. But they're wrong. Very wrong.

Ep.87- Choices That Heal Or Kill pt.2 (rePLAY)
Tuesday Dec 01, 2020
Tuesday Dec 01, 2020
None of the choices we make are made in a vacuum. Which is to say, every choice you make has a rippling effect in our lives as well as in the lives of those around us. When we think about the profound impact our choices have on our lives, we often overlook the choices we didn’t make. Imagine the good that would have resulted in your life, in the world, had you made those choices to do what you knew was right for you then. The world may have shouted you down, but it is you who failed to act. Now, you have to decide what’s your next step going forward. You can either remain stuck in the mire of bitterness and self-pity or recommit yourself to taking full control of your life by making those choices that either heal or kill.

Ep. 86 - Choices That Heal Or Kill Pt. 1 (rePLAY)
Tuesday Nov 24, 2020
Tuesday Nov 24, 2020
Are your choices enhancing or hindering your progress? Are you where you want to be in life or where you thought you’d be at this point in your life? One of the major reasons people struggle to overcome self-created mental blocks is most believe thinking and learning are disciplines that belong to the world of academia, so once they graduate high school or college, learning and thinking are no longer required, with the small exception of learning a new skill for a job. How sad. What they don’t teach you in school, however, is introspection— how to think critically about yourself. And more importantly, how to think for yourself. What they do teach, however, is how to be critical of others. Which, of course, means there is no need for self-examination.

Ep. 116 - Exercising The Decision Muscle (rePLAY)
Tuesday Nov 17, 2020
Tuesday Nov 17, 2020
If every human being possesses every human trait then why do some seem more gifted and talented than others? Is it the environment that determines our gifts and talents, or is it genes being switched off or on? And how much control, if any, do we have over which talents and gifts we can claim as ours. And can our gifts and talents be further developed into the area of greatness versus those that seem far beyond our reach? Like possessing a 45 inch vertical or writing a new computer language? No matter how hard you wish, meditate, or pray to be smarter, thinner, more talented, you will ultimately have to make a decision.

Ep. 114 - Who Are You? - (replaY)
Tuesday Nov 10, 2020
Tuesday Nov 10, 2020
There is a lot going on in the world, but very little has to do with you. For instance, it doesn't matter how accurately you think you see the world if your self-perception has been compromised by what you see or know. Most people do not think they're pretty or handsome enough, rich enough, big enough, smart enough, or talented enough. But to do what? Those adjectives may describe your perceived limitations, but they don’t describe you. They certainly shouldn’t define you. You are much greater and vital than that. If this is true (and it is) then who are you? Not who others say you are or think you are... Not what your job title says you do... But who are you?

Life Lessons Before COVID-19 Vol.23 "THINKING IS OUR ONLY SUPERPOWER" PT.11
Tuesday Nov 03, 2020
Tuesday Nov 03, 2020
Dr. Scott Atlas is the Robert Wesson Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, an accomplished physician, and a scholar of public health. When this was recorded Dr. Atlas has been making the case in print and in other media that we as a society have overreacted in imposing draconian restrictions on movement, gatherings, schools, sports, and other activities. He believes the virus is a real threat and should be managed as such. But, as Dr. Atlas argues, there are some age groups and activities that are subject to very low risk. The one-size-fits-all approach is overly authoritarian, inefficient, and not based on science. At the end of the day, you can make informed decisions for you and your family. That is, so you can think for yourself because “Thinking Is Our Only Superpower.”

Dr. Scott Atlas is the Robert Wesson Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, an accomplished physician, and a scholar of public health. When this was recorded Dr. Atlas has been making the case in print and other media that we as a society have overreacted in imposing draconian restrictions on movement, gatherings, schools, sports, and other activities. He believes the virus is a real threat and should be managed as such. But, as Dr. Atlas argues, there are some age groups and activities that are subject to very low risk. The one-size-fits-all approach is overly authoritarian, inefficient, and not based on science. Dr. Atlas’s prescription includes more protection for people in nursing homes, two weeks of strict self-isolation for those with mild symptoms, and most importantly, the opening of all K–12 schools. Dr. Atlas was also adamant that an economic shutdown, and all of the attendant issues that go along with it, is a terrible solution— a cure that's worse than the disease. Finally, Dr. Atlas revealed some steps he’d taken in his own life to try to get things back to normal. With the world becoming increasingly toxic and the incredible lack of knowledge regarding appropriate healthcare, it has never been more important to take charge of your health and your life. At the end of the day, you can make informed decisions for you and your family. That is, so you can think for yourself because “Thinking Is Our Only Superpower.”
